FAQs

Q. Who can attend Furniture?
A. Anyone in the trade. Furniture is a purely trade event and NOT open to the public.  You will need to bring identification of trade status such as a business card.

Q. How much does it cost to attend?
A. By pre-registering for the show you will receive FREE entry. It will also give you fast track entry to the halls. If you do not pre-register in advance there will be a £15 charge.

Q. How can people pre-register for the show?
A. Click here to pre-register to attend Furniture 2008. You are only required to register once to access this show plus all the others in Interiors Birmingham.

Q. When will I receive my badge?
A. You will receive your badge approximately 2 weeks before the show together with the Show Preview Magazine to help your plan your time at the event.

Q. Where does my badge allow me access to?
A. Your Furniture badge allows you free entry to all halls at Interiors Birmingham including Furnishing Accessories, Collection, Outdoor Collection, Design Interiors, Lighting, Lighting Collection, and Soft.

Q. What if I have forgotten my badge when I arrive at the show?
A. Just go to the registration desks at either the Arena, Piazza/Railway or Atrium entrances and give the staff your name, they will locate your details on the computer and issue you with a new badge.

Q. Can I register on-site?
A. Yes, but if you have not pre-registered you will have to pay a £15 entry fee and complete a registration form at the entrance.

Q. If I register on-site and pay the £15 entrance fee, will I have to pay again if I wish to return to the show another day?
A. No, once you have received your badge you can return to any of the halls as many times as you wish!

Q. What time do the doors open?
A. The halls open for visitors at 9am everyday. Please refer to the Travel & Stay page for full details of show opening hours and how to get to the NEC, Birmingham.

Q. How do I find my way around the show once I have arrived?
A. ‘You Are Here’ boards are located in all halls and hanging banners illustrate the hall layout. If you pre-registered for Furniture you can use the Show Preview Magazine sent with your badge to plan your visit before the show - the compact size means it’s easy to use onsite to guide you around the halls. A show catalogue is also available to buy which has full show information as well as a map. In addition, the friendly Ask Me team will be roaming the show and will be on hand to help you with anything you may need.

Q. Is there a cloakroom for bags and coats?
A. Cloakrooms are situated adjacent to the hall entrances and are open daily until twenty minutes after the close of the exhibition. The charge per item is £1.

Q. Can I bring children?
A. There is strictly no admittance to children.

Q. I am a student, am I able to attend the event?
A. Students are permitted entry to Furniture via prior arrangement only. Please ask your Course Leader or Lecturer who will be able to arrange a student visit and receive the guidelines for attendance. Please contact Jessica Ansell jansell@cmpi.biz if you are a student and wish to attend.

Q. Where can I eat?
The NEC hosts an array of eateries located within the Atrium and Piazza.

Q. Is there a cashpoint?
A. Full banking facilities are available at the Natwest Bank located in the Piazza outside Hall 4. Cashpoints are located adjacent to Hall 1 and in the Atrium, opposite Hall 8 and next to Hall 9.

Q. Where can I find information about accommodation and where to go in the evening?
A. Check out the Travel & Stay page on the website for details of accommodation, where to eat and where to shop in Birmingham

Q. Are there disabled facilities at the NEC?
All levels of The NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via ramps or lifts. Q. I am an International visitor to the show, how do I obtain my badge onsite?
A. Touchscreen computers will be located at all registration points of Interiors Birmingham. Type in your unique reference number, which you received during the online registration process. Your badge will be printed off automatically.
